Trusting God Through Life's Trials

When we hear the words, “Trust in God,” or “God is going to take care of things,” what do you think of? We hear these phrases many, many times from preachers and teachers and most times we just nod our heads and go on. When hard times come to us personally those words sting a bit more. Trusting in God to take care of our situations is most times much harder than we want to admit.
We get comfortable in the good times and seem to forget that God is in control of them both, the good and rough times. Many times, He allows us to go through those rough times to build our faith and test our character.
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. – James 1:2-3
Pastors are not immune to this either and many times it is somewhat harder for me to go through these tough times, simply because I should be striving to live as an example to others in this. But I am just like you, a person who is flawed and serving a forgiving Lord. Life is tough and even when we are moving along at a good pace and God seems to be blessing us, be reminded that Satan is lurking, looking for his opportunity to hit us in a moment of weakness.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. – Proverbs 3:5
Look at the plans you have and see how much of them are truly made trusting in the Lord. If you realize that they are not made with His guidance in them, then maybe you need to rewrite them with His pen.
May God Bless You.
Pastor Mark
