The Harvest Is Plentiful: Will We Answer the Call?
October brings a lot of different ideas for people. Many are excited to dress up and have fun for Halloween. Planning to scare people is fun for so many, although I personally never really got into the whole thing.
Growing up around farming, October meant something different for us. This was the time we were always deep into harvesting crops.
“And He was saying to them, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send us laborers into His harvest.” - Luke 10:2
Luke 10:2 tells us that the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
We continually pray for new souls to come to know Jesus, but in many cases, we are not putting in the effort to reap a harvest.
When we were harvesting crops, everything else got put on hold. We had to focus solely on getting the crops out of the field before any bad weather hit to hinder us.
This should be our mindset when we are praying that God will send us lost people to share the gospel with.
All things except reaching the lost for Jesus should be set aside to reap the harvest of souls for the kingdom of God.
God promises us a harvest if we are willing to put in the work to reap it. I pray that you are willing to not leave anyone behind for the enemy to glean.
God Bless.
