Looking Forward

When I was younger, I remember older folks always telling me how time seems to go faster the older you get. I never understood what that meant until I got older and started to feel that time was slipping away. August takes us 8 months into the year and it seems that just a few weeks ago we were celebrating a New Year.

As we go thru the year we must always be looking ahead at what is coming up. It may be a special day, a vacation or a special event. Regardless, we are constantly looking forward.

It is very much the same for the church and especially when we are asking God to lead us to those who need Jesus. A church cannot fulfill God’s will by looking back at their past and hoping it will move them forward.

As we look forward and plan for what we feel God is leading us to do, we must seek to reach the world for Christ. Building the Kingdom person by person and striving to help them deepen their relationship with Christ daily. Richard Blackaby said that we must look at where God is working and go get in the middle of it and I truly believe that is the way we will see God build our church as we seek to build the Kingdom for Him.
