A Heart for Missions: Thank You, Church Family

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

I hope this finds each of you doing well. I am so ready for summer to be over and for cooler weather to arrive. I want to be outside enjoying the beautiful, cooler temperatures!

I want to start this letter to you today by saying, “Thank you! You are an amazing family of God!” You went above and beyond with your Christmas in August school supply donations this year. Bonnie and I had the privilege of taking the school supplies to Whale Branch Elementary. They were waiting for us when we arrived.

This is what you donated this year:

• 12 pencil cases

• 34 markers

• 35 composition books

• 24 packs of paper

• 69 spiral notebooks

• 14 pairs of scissors

• 66 glue sticks

• 17 bottles of Elmer’s glue

• 40 boxes of crayons

• 14 rulers

• 5 calculators

• 20 BIC pens

• 566 pencils

• 1 box of tissues

• 4 hand sanitizers

• 1 pack of construction paper

• 1 writing tablet

• 16 pairs of panties

• 10 pairs of boys’ briefs

• 15 pairs of socks

• 15 pencil bags

• 3 Sharpies

• 9 packages of index cards

• 12 fully packed book bags

• 1 container of wipes

This is amazing! You made a difference in the lives of young children in our community.

Our Janie Chapman Offering for State Missions will begin on September 6, 2026. Our goal this year is $1,000. The brochure and envelopes will be passed out on September 6. Please pray about your offering, and most importantly, please pray for our state missionaries.

Janie Chapman was South Carolina’s first WMU president. She was elected in 1902 and served for 22 years in that position. She believed that the work you do for Christ is never wasted. I think we can all agree with that statement. As we work for Christ with the right heart and in His will, He will move mountains for us. It should be all about Jesus!

Coming up this month, on September 19, 2026, is our first “Amberfest.” We will need everyone’s help. We need your loved items that you no longer use for our yard sale. We also need you to bake cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and other goodies for the bake sale. We will need help with the kids’ games, as well as with the yard sale and bake sale. In other words, we need you more than ever!

All funds received from the yard sale and bake sale will go to our Christmas Shoebox Ministry. Our church missions await your involvement.

On Friday and Saturday, October 16 and 17, the women of the church and others will head to Camp Jackson for our annual women’s retreat. Our theme is "TRANSFORMATION!" How has God transformed you in your walk with Him? Tammy Curtis will be our guest speaker. MM& T will be our caterers, and they always cook such good food for us!
